Marcus Thompson
Chairman

Marcus was educated in the UK. He holds an MA in Law from Cambridge University and was also called to the Bar of England and Wales. In 2001, he participated in the inaugural Wharton Fellows Program. He started his business career with John Swire and Sons (HK) Limited in Hong Kong in a general management capacity before joining the private equity industry in the UK in 1988. In 1992, he relocated back to Hong Kong joining HSBC’s Asian private equity arm. In 2010, he co-led the management buyout of the firm from the HSBC Group. He was a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Private Equity and Venture Capital Association from 1996 to 2001 and a member of EMPEA’s Asian Council from 2015 to 2020.

Vincent Low
Managing Partner

Vincent joined HPEF in 2016 as Senior Partner, Head of Portfolio Management and is now the Managing Partner. His management and operational experience was garnered from a global executive career with General Electric, GE-related spinouts with P&L ownership responsibilities, and at Actis, a pan emerging market private equity firm. He has generated strong portfolio value improvements during the last 4 years and led the team to successfully realise strong exits for investors. Vincent received an M.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and a B.A. (Honors) in Economics and Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University (Canada).
